Charlie Brown

Some people find charlie brown (known as freckles too) cute, but some don't, just like me.  I am born fair with sensitive/combination skin in petite size.  I am also a mother of 2 gals, aged 3 & 7 :)

I am consider a skincare freak among my friends since school days as I am always all out trying any products that can helps get rid of those cute little charlie brown on my cheeks.

I started off with NUSKIN but it is not suitable for my skin at all.  After using it for 1 week or so, I got breakout all over!  That was really a very scary experience.  That is how I came to know about Dr Secret when my god-mom introduce it to me, way back since 2000.

Dr Secret comes in a full set from number 1-5.  No. 1 is the Cleanser, No.2 is the Toner, No.3 is the Skinlight (Infused with Idebenone and Vitamin C, Skinlight T3 works as an intensive treatment for dull skin, acne marks and uneven pigmentation. It enhances skin renewal by stimulating micro-peeling of surface layers for enhanced anti-aging and brightening effects of the active ingredients), No.4 is the Skinrecon (Skinrecon T4 completes the skin treatment program with its synergistic blend of multi-functional active ingredients and anti-oxidants offering exceptional skin calming properties while renewing, restoring and nourishing your skin) and 5 is the Sunscreen which comes in both normal and matt.  I love their matt sunscreen though, it does not makes my face shines like frying pan after mid-day.  A worth trying product!

It's quite costly to buy the full set at a go as it cost about S$400+ and now their pricing has revised to S$500+ per set.  I will say, wait for promotion where you can still get a full set at rate of S$400+ after discount.

The very first batch comes in a cream based for number 3 & 4.  These are the two important creams that helps lighten the pigmentation.  For the very first month after using it, my skin starts to redden & peel off.  That is where the new skin starts to reform and this is the amazing part where people starts to notice my radiant skin.  I have encountered many good remarks from people like: "小妹, 你的皮肤很美哦!"  hahaaa Believe it or not, I have not used any foundation on my skin since then.

For some health reason, Dr Secret stopped producing cream form No.3 & No.4 about 2 years ago.  They changed a new packaging and replaced with a new series called T Series.  T2 - Toner, T3 Skinlight and T4 Skinrecon.

Here's the new T Series packaging

Personally, I do not find these T Series much effective for freckles/pigmentation.  My freckles starts going happily (without controlled) for the past few months.

Because of these new changes, I left with no choice but to change my whole skincare range.  I am now trying into new products like SKII - Treatment Essence, SKII - Spot Whitening Essence, SKII - Signature Cream, Lancome - Genifique Eye and Lancome - Genifique.  And recently i just bought Medik8  - White Balance.  Hopefully it helps to lighten my freckles.

I have been reading up about cosmelan treatment for pigmentation skin.  I'll blog about it after i tried!

Stay tuned!
